Hotel La Fortezza - Assisi

Dinner at the hotel's restaurant was a culinary highlight, with the succulent chianina meat grilled to perfection- lovely! The rooftop terrace with a amazing view of the town made breakfast even sweeter, especially with the variety of homemade cakes and local delights.

Getting to the reception required climbing quite a few steps from the piazza, and the locked gate to the rooms needed extra caution from guests, making us just a tad uneasy with our baggage on the last day.

Reasonably good and delicious breakfast choice with beautiful view, superb views, sweets. Very central location, just a pleasant stroll away from a fragrant herb garden...

Bathroom plumbing issues leading to unpleasant odors!!! Prepare for a workout with the many steps to reach the rooms, which could be a hassle for some guests!!!

The grounds were beautiful and it was nice they had parking for the guests.

The location of this small hotel was excellent being right in the heart of Assisi, although it is a climb up from the main square.The facilities were very good with well equipped comfortable rooms and the bonus of free internet access in the main lobby. The cold buffet breakfast was fine with an impressive selection of teas or coffees to choose from.The breakfast terrace provided a stunning and memorable view of the valley below Assisi and the hills beyond. The tea and coffee facilities were available, free of charge, during the afternoon on the terrace. The hotel provided several guidebooks as well some free bus passes. The hotel is one I will be strongly recommending to anyone going to Assisi.

The only disappointment was that the hotel restaurant was only open for the first night of the stay and then closed for holidays and it was a pity that I was not told about this when booking in.

Its location is unbeatable and nice - walking distance from Assisi city center. The a double room is compact, we also thoroughly enjoyed GREAT views. The atmosphere of the hotel is quiet.

We had a spacious bedroom.

The location near the main piazza offers easy access to local shops and dining. Communication was seamless with the staff, and the room was immaculate with comfy bedding and luxurious artisanal soaps. The breakfast spread impressed with its variety, but getting to the hotel by car posed a challenge due to limited parking options. While finding the hotel can be tricky, the charming, safe surroundings certainly made up for it.

fairly clean, modern hotel with incredible location and particularly good variety of breakfast food. nicely furnished and compact room, amicable staff, public parking. location next to amazing restaurants and the bus station and tuscany and umbria. good choice of food in the venue, family restaurant. what a peaceful stay, no reason to complain.

i loved everything about la fortezza. wonderful place to stay...and I did for 14 days!!!!!

This place is fantastic for families! The breakfast up on the rooftop was an absolute highlight, complete with fine views and friendly service. Plus, it was great that they accommodated our small dog .

My kids wished for more playful activities around the hotel.

Very pleasant staff and excellent service. Brilliant view from the breakfast room on the second floor. Good breakfast. Coffee/tea/cookies served in the afternoon for free an additional bonus. We were given an audioguide to assisi and a guide book to use for free, a discount card (which we admittedly didn't find much use for) and 2 bust tickets since we didn't have a car. Great location.

No disabled access, no lift, which could be a problem for the elderly or infirm. Most showers are wet rooms which can be a bit annoying.

Can't recommend highly enough for a concise stay

Clean room, cozy atmosphere, with excellent Wi-Fi and a delicious breakfast with a huge variety of cakes, served on a lovely outdoor terrace.
